Registration and review procedures for chemical substances under K-REACH
Chemical substances subject to registration/notification
For existing chemical substances, individuals wishing to domestically manufacture or import 1 ton or more of the substance annually must register the substance before manufacture/import begins, or within the grace period* after pre-registration procedures
* Grace period : Over 1 ton of CMR substances annually or over 1,000 tons annually(~’21), Between 100 tons and 1,000 tons annually(~’24), Between 10 tons and 100 tons annually(~’27), Between 1 ton and 10 tons annually(~’30)
For new chemical substances, individuals wishing to domestically manufacture or import over 100 kilograms of the substance annually are required to register the substance before manufacture/import. If the quantity is under 100 kilograms annually, notification is required instead.
