[Chemical Product Management System Announcement] Guidance on Categorization of Biocidal Products by Type

Types of Biocidal Products according to “the Consumer Chemical Products And Biocides Safety Control Act”
-The types of biocidal products (15 types) in which biocide can be used are matters that distinguish the scope of application of ‘Biocide’, ‘Biocidal products’, and ‘Biocide treated products’ for compliance with the “Consumer Chemical Products And Biocides Safety Control Act”
-Please use this as a reference material for distinguishing the types of products that are suitable for your intended purpose and use. Also, the intended use may vary depending on the method and purpose of use. Additionally, one product may not correspond to only one type of product.
-For the classification of product types that are not specified in the guidelines, please contact the National Institute of Environmental Research (1800-4840).

 [Chemical Product Management System Announcement] Information on Posting of Version Update Data of Biocide Risk Assess

This is the National Institute of Environmental Research.
Regarding the approval of biocidal substances and biocidal products, the Biocide Risk AssessMent System(BRAMS) has been updated from version 3.03 to version 3.04. Accordingly the new version has been distributed as attached. Please refer to it in your work.

 [Korea Occupational Safety and Hazard Agency] Details regarding MSDS which will be amended/enforced from 2021.01.16.

Beginning 2021.1.16., in accordance with Article 110 of the Industrial Safety Health Act, individuals who wish to manufacture or import substances subject to MSDS must submit an MSDS prepared as detailed in Ministry of Employment and Labor Notice No. 2020-130 to the Agency. The attached document explains the revised procedures and directions regarding the submission of MSDS. Its contents include a summary of MSDS submissions, targets/subject/documents and directions/time of submission, targets exempt from submission, assignment of MSDS numbers, precautions when submitting MSDS, etc.

 [(MOE)Chemical Safety Industrial Support Group] Guide for Chemical Substance Registration Support Project.

In accordance with Article 10 of K-REACH, individuals who intend to manufacture/import 1 ton or more of existing chemical substances yearly must register the chemical in stages by 2030.
* 1,000 tons or more, CMR(~2021), 100~1,000 tons(~2024), 10~100 tons(~2027), 1~10 tons(~2030)
The Ministry of Environment conducts the “Chemical Substance Registration Support Project” to minimize the burden on the industry, especially on small and medium-sized businesses; the attached document is a general introduction guideline for the project in 2021.

 [Announcement of MOE] Guide on registration applications for existing chemical substances.

When applying for registration in accordance with K-REACH Enforcement Decree Article 13 Subparagraph 1-3, the leader must check the joint registrants’ compliance to the relevant conditions(details of pre-registration or altered notification, whether the chemical is for general consumer use) before submission. .
* Article 13 of the Enforcement Decree for K-REACH(Omission of Submission Data when Applying for Chemical Substance Registration), Subparagraph 1-3: Existing chemical substances whose submitted data for substance registration, etc. contain health hazard or environmental hazard categories which meet the standards as set by decree of the Ministry of Environment(cases where the chemical is manufactured/imported for consumer use are excluded.
