[Chemical Safety Industry Support Group Announcement] Information on Chemical Substances Exempt from Registration or Notification (related to Direct Exemption)]
○Confirmation of chemical substances exempt from registration or notification under the “The Act on Registration and Evaluation on Chemical Substance” is classified as direct exemption or exemption after confirmation.
○The following chemical substances that fall under direct exemption do not require registration or exemption confirmation for manufacture or importation. (However, the manufacturer or importer must possess evidence to prepare for post-inspection by determining whether they qualify for exemption.)
①Chemicals sealed within machinery
②Chemicals imported with machinery for test drive purposes
③Chemicals in products which have a fixed function in solid form, and thus are not released during use
④Chemicals which have been reviewed and designated and announced by the Minister of Environment after deliberation by the Evaluation Committee as having very low hazard*

1) Chemical substances listed in Annex 1, such as substances found in nature
2) Chemical substances listed in Annex 2, such as glucose and starch
○Please refer to Annex 1 and 2 files attached and thoroughly examine whether the chemical substances manufactured or imported at individual business sites qualify for direct exemption before proceeding with registration under the “The Act on registration and Evaluation on Chemical Substance”.
